Division Winemaking Company is an award-winning urban winery in Portland, Oregon. Division represents a fresh generation of curious winemaking looking beyond the status quo to create unique wines from diverse grape varieties with both intention and a story.

Division Winemaking Company is a wine oasis in the heart of Inner SE Portland. Co-owners and co-winemakers Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe make approachable and balanced low intervention wines with great price to quality value. Kate and Tom work with terroir-expressive vineyards, focused on organic, regenerative and/or Biodynamic® farming.

We look forward to raising a glass with you in person! Division Winemaking Company is open for walk-in wine tastings. Reservations are still preferred, but we will take walk-in tastings based on availability.

Drink Chenin Celebration

We started Drink Chenin years ago to promote the magic of the grape here in the U.S.

We’re joined in the Drink Chenin celebration by our winery friends Landmass, Evening Land, The Marigny, Bow & Arrow, and distributor friends PDX Wines + Lone Wolf Wines.

We’ll have tastes from each of these wineries along with a few Worldwide stunners from two of our fave importers.

You can also pair Loire cheeses from La Femme Fromage to level up your celebration.

Bacchanal Goes West

Friday July 19 – Sunday July 21

This July, New Orleans legends Bacchanal WInes will join us at the winery for three days FILLED with food, wine, and NOLA-style revelry!

Don’t miss the wine party of the year, happening for one weekend only, July 19th through 21st!

We’ll be welcoming chef and co-owner Joaquin Rodas and his team as they present a special menu of Bacchanal’s greatest hits, capped by the ⭐️ star attraction ⭐️ freshly flown in Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp, which they will be grilling to perfection in the courtyard at The Wine Yard!

Stay posted for the full menu, but since it’s sure to be a sell out, we are offering advanced pre-sale on the grilled shrimp for you to reserve ahead of time (presale info below!)

And of course there will be wine… Kate and Tom – along with Bacchanal wine director Katie Singer – will highlight some bottles of their favorites from wineries around the world to capture the true Bacchanal Wines vibe (if you’ve been, you know!)

Plus, we’re excited to announce the following special guest winemakers each day of the weekend the weekend – these wineries are also special friends of the Bacchanal fam and we can’t wait to party with them too! Drum roll for the guest winemaker line up :

A Blind Date Tasting Party

Have you ever wondered how wine pros blind taste a wine and can guess the variety, the region, even the vintage?!

Well, we are going to set up our very own Tom Monroe and sommelier and owner of Arden Kelsey Glass on “Wine Tasting Blind Date” to give you the tools and techniques that sommeliers and wine professionals around the world use to deduce to help determine what’s in the glass in front of you without looking  at the label!

Kelsey and Tom are sure this taste breakdown rendezvous will help you not only better understand what’s in your glass, but learn a great way to experience and have fun wine with your friends and family.

Here are the details…
– There will be 6 wines to taste blind, each could be white or red and will be a primary well known grape variety.
– Kelsey and Tom (The blind date duo) will walk you through basics of how deductive blind tastings process works

– The blind date duo will each take a stab and identifying the first two wines, which they won’t know ahead of time what it is

– They will help the group through the next two wines and then will look fora few of the of the event guests to try and figure out the last two blind tastes!

Division Wine Tasting

Taste through a range of our Portland-produced wines (and an inspiration wine or two) with a knowledgeable member of our team. We update our tasting lineup regularly to align with the season and what wines are tasting best.

Wine club members receive unlimited complimentary1 tastings for groups of up to 4 people.

🆓  Free Wine Tastings for former SEWC club members – As a thank you to our O.G. supporters, we’re offering one-time free tastings to former SEWC club members and up to 3 guests. To receive the free tasting, include the name on your SEWC club membership and SEWC club member # in the reservation notes at Step 2 during checkout to ensure you will not be charged.

 

1Meat + cheese board add-ons are not complimentary. Are you a club member and want to add a board? No Problem! The difference will be charged to your account 48 hours ahead of your reservation.
2A $5 per guest service charge will be charged at the end of your reservation.
3For every $100+ wine purchase or a wine club signup on the day of the reservation we will waive up to 2 wine tasting fees.

Every day that the winery is open for tastings, you can swing by and buy a bottle! There’s no need for a reservation for the bottle shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get charged ahead of my reservation?

We charge reservations 48 hours in advance.

Do I tip on the day of my reservation?

There will be a 20% service charge on the day of the reservation, but you are free to tip on top of that service charge.

Can I add on the meat & cheese boards at the tasting?

Unfortunately, no. All meat & cheese board add-ons must be confirmed 48 hours in advance of your reservation.

What if I love the wine and buy a bunch of bottles at the tasting?

We hope you do! For every $100+ wine purchase or a wine club signup on the day of the reservation we will waive up to 2 wine tasting fees.

I’m a wine club member. What kind of special treatment do I receive?

Wine club members receive unlimited complimentary tastings for groups of up to 4 people. If you are interested in joining a club ahead of your tasting, please note that we require a one-year commitment upon joining any of our clubs.

What if I forget to cancel my tasting reservation and get charged?

We do not offer any refunds for those who forgot to cancel or no show their reservation. If you forget to cancel before 48 hours ahead of your reservation and reach out to us, we will use 50% of your tasting reservation fee as credit towards a $150+ purchase from our website.

What if I need to edit my reservation to add or remove guests?

We are happy to edit your reservation at no cost outside of 48 hours before your reservation. If you need to edit your reservation within 48 hours of your reservation and reach out to us, we will use your tasting reservation fee as credit towards a $150+ purchase from our website on the day of the reservation. We do not offer any refunds on meat, cheese, or meat & cheese boards within 48 hours of your reservation, but you are free to take any extra food home with you.

Do you offer any non-alcoholic options?

Having an option to reach for a beverage that feels celebratory, thoughtful, artisanal and special while also having no alcohol feels not only inclusive, but also a way to help bring balance into our sphere. Something for all to enjoy at any time, together.
