Have you worked a harvest before or have been dying to get your feet into a fermenter full of grapes?

If so – we have just the position for you!

Division Winemaking Co., a Portland-based winery, is seeking an outgoing and charismatic weekend tasting room host – Saturday and Sunday availability is required for this position, as our tastings are scheduled by appointment, with bookings offered from 11am to 5pm daily.

As bookings increase there is the possibility for additional weekday hours if desired, and there is also the additional **potential** to work full-time for the grape harvest this fall if interested (September-November).

If harvest is not for you, don’t feel like you shouldn’t apply – we can also split the roles up, no problem!

Our tastings are detailed, yet relaxed and personal, micro-group experiences that focus on the delicious and fun aspect of our low-intervention wines made from organic and Biodynamic grape from the Pacific Northwest region and will be held by appointment at our new winery and beautiful new tasting room, conveniently located in inner Southeast Portland.

Our weekend tasting room host will oversee every aspect of our guests’ tasting experience, including setting up for the tasting and any pre-purchased snacks, leading a brief tour and presenting the tasting with knowledge of our wines, our winegrowing region and winemaking, plus fulfilling any orders and facilitating wine club sign-ups or shipping requests.

The tasting room host will work alongside our DTC Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure the highest degree of service, hospitality, fun, and engagement for our guests.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for wine and want to share that, is friendly, organized, reliable, personable, and sales + hospitality oriented.

This is a unique chance to be part of a dynamic, life-loving small team with the potential to take on greater roles within the hospitality part of our business and/or could potentially include a harvest role if the candidate is interested.

Tasting Host Role and Responsibilities:
  • Welcome guests at the winery and lead an independent and unique tour and tasting experience while executing the highest levels of hospitality.
  • Encourage the sale of our wines and drive interest in new wine club memberships.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the winery’s history and winemaking.
  • Execute all hospitality tasks, setting up and breaking down tasting, assisting processing orders, wine club sign ups and shipping wine.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Experience working within wine-based hospitality environment (restaurant or another winery) 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Engaging personality, genuine kindness, team player, responsible 
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude 
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solving without oversight, great communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a small team that necessitates everyone wearing many hats
  • Must be available to work weekends (especially during the summer months – though the very occasional shift covered can be provided with advance notice ) 
  • Wine Qualifications appreciated, but not required 
  • Proficient with standard computer operations, POS systems, and CRM systems
  • Activities required: standing, walking, regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Must be at least 21+ 
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and love of creating exceptional experiences
